At Mix Mansion we give a f*ck about ingredient lists. The main ingredient in our spray tans is always gentle water! We pride ourselves on our refined, skin-conscious ingredient lists that feature skin-care grade repairing ingredients like aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, collagen, jojoba seed oil, and cucumber extract. The active ingredient in all sunless-tanning products globally is DHA (dihydroxyacetone). All MIX DHA is eco-certified and plant derived from sugar-beets. No dirty little secret ingredients around here!

Our skin-loving spray tans are infused with deeply hydrating and skin-repairing ingredients to give clients 7-10+ days out of their results. For results that last even longer, opt for spray tan designed aftercare products. They’re worth the investment!

The short answer is no, your  Mix Mansion spray tan should not stain your clothing or bed sheets but it may transfer prior to your first shower. Not to worry, it’s washable.  Regardless, we recommend leaving that Chanel tweed suit you’ve been dying to wear at home.

Orange spray tans? That’s really not our style! All our Mix Mansion spray tans are 100% custom to your skin tone and goals to ensure your spray tans are the perfect beachy bronze every time. 

Yes! But remember, the only safe tan is a spray tan! Pile on that spray tan friendly SPF, sister. And remember, your spray tan is not a “base tan”! PRO TIP: for a spray tan safe SPF, grab something lotion-based and hydrating.

Yes! At Mix Mansion, we use our exclusive water-based custom spray tan solutions made with carefully selected plant-based ingredients to nourish—not irritate—your skin. For ultra-sensitive skin, we also offer bronzer-free options.

You can even still spray tan with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis! Just ensure there’s no active flare-up on the areas you want tanned. Broken skin should be avoided or covered. We recommend applying a lotion of your choice to those areas a few hours before your session and bringing it to your appointment.

Express tans contain a higher level of DHA, allowing you to rinse in just 2-5 hours. Gradual tans, on the other hand, require 8-12 hours before rinsing, but they tend to last a bit longer due to the extended leave-on time. Talk to your Mix Mansion mixologist to select the perfect option for you.

Rinse your spray tan with lukewarm water at your assigned time for no more than 60 seconds. Use your hands to gently massage off the bronzer, and avoid using soap during the first rinse. Make sure you stay in the shower until the water runs clear. After your shower, avoid applying lotions or oils to the body until you’ve reached 24 hours.

Exfoliate your skin the day prior to your spray tan (8+ hours in advance) and, if you want to go the extra mile, exfoliate, moisturize and drink extra water in the days leading up to your spray tan appointment. Do any optional hair removal 24 hours or more in advance. Attend your appointment with clean, product-free, deodorant-free, makeup-free skin!

Wear loose and dark clothing to your spray tan appointment. Have a baggy black sweatsuit? Perfect, wear it!

Going on vacation? Come in as close to leaving as possible, aka the day before jetsetting! You want your vacay tan as fresh as possible. 

Have an event or wedding coming up? Come in 1-3 days in advance to your big day, 2 days prior is the absolute best! The spray tan solution will need to be left on the skin to develop before showering 2-12 hours, so plan accordingly!

​​Yes, MIX is pregnancy-safe! However, since every pregnancy is unique, we recommend consulting your physician before booking a spray tan. Additionally, we generally advise against spray tanning during the first trimester, as it can be a sensitive time and may lead to feelings of dizziness or nausea. To further ensure your comfort, we recommend wearing a facial covering, like a mask, until the end of your session. This helps limit any overspray inhalation, allowing us to apply product to your face safely at the conclusion of your spray tan.

Want your Mix Mansion spray tan results to last forever? Us too! Limit water exposure and heavy sweating, try to take quick lukewarm showers and use spray tan safe products. PRO TIP: invest in spray tan friendly soap and lotion that is ultra gentle, fragrance-free, and alcohol-free.

The products you use after a spray tan can make or break your results! Opt for products that are alcohol-free, fragrance-free, and gentle on the skin. Stay away from Dove, Olay, etc. If you’re looking for a drugstore brand, Cetaphil and Cerave are spray tan friendly!

It is best to avoid swimming and working out for 24 hours following your spray tan appointment! Any heavy sweating or water exposure will cause the spray tan to fade faster. If you’re itching for a workout, we recommend light strength training activities like pilates instead of heavy cardio.

After your Mix Mansion spray tan session, it’s best to avoid waxing altogether. Hair removal is a personal choice, but if you plan to wax, it should be done at least 24 hours before your appointment. Shaving can cause the tan to fade more quickly, so it's recommended to wait at least 24 hours after your spray tan to shave if necessary. Proper timing ensures the best, long-lasting results!

Ideally, 1-3 days before your wedding. Two days is perfect, and don’t forget to book a trial since our tans are 100% custom!

Then, you’ll participate in a live session—either in-person or via Zoom—where we focus on perfecting your technique and building your confidence while working with live models. Generally, there are no prerequisites to become a spray tan artist! Anyone can pursue this career. However, we recommend checking your local regulations and state requirements to ensure compliance. We offer programs for artists with no experience whatsoever, as well as for advanced artists.

However, for our tan services, if you provide 48+ hours' notice, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment to a new date within 30 days. If you need to cancel at any time, please notify us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to assist you.

For spray tan training-related deposits, please note that they are entirely non-refundable. Cancellations made within 10 days of your course date will be considered a "no-show" and may incur an additional cancellation fee, along with the loss of your deposit. These terms apply as soon as any deposit is made.

We are grateful to have so many clients eager for their golden glow, so punctuality is crucial. If you’re running late, please let our team know as soon as possible. Arriving more than 10 minutes late will result in your appointment being treated as a no-show, and the card on file will be charged.

No-show appointments and same-day cancellations (within 24 hours of the appointment time) will incur a charge equal to the full appointment amount plus HST. To respect our technicians' time and expertise, clients who do not pay no-show fees will not be welcomed back until their balance is settled.

To reschedule, please use the 'reschedule' button in your appointment confirmation; note that this button will become inactive 48 hours before your appointment. If you need to make last-minute changes after the 48-hour window, contact us via email at mansion@mixsunless.com, and we will assist you with rebooking (fees may apply).

Cancellations within 48 hours due to illness are subject to these policies. However, if you provide ample notice, we may credit your session for use within 30 days of your original appointment date for a small fee.
